REVEALED AT LAST!!!
THE REAL SECRETS
OF GAINING ADMISSION INTO THE UNIVERSITY OF LAGOS....
Dear prospective
Unilag students,
That time of the year
is here again where students will be seeking for admission placement
into various tertiary institutions in Nigeria.
Of all the universities
in Nigeria, the University of Lagos
always have the highest number of prospective students seeking for
admission into the school. Reasons for these cannot be far fetched,
the school which is strategically located in the heart of Lagos is
well renowned for its fashionable or swaggerlicious style (pardon my
use of words). Hence, it's the dream of students to be at the
University of Lagos.
The University which
was established in 1962 is also well known for the quality of
education being given at the school, the facilities at the
university are world class. The certificate of the school is also
well respected among multinational companies in the country. If a
certificate holder of Unilag is vying for employment in a company
with certificate holders from other schools like Olabisi Onabanjo
University (OOU), Lagos state University (LASU), University of
Calabar (UNICAL) e.t.c under the same circumstances, the chance is
high that his/her application will be considered first before
others. The school is also a toast among parents because its one of
the schools that has the lowest rate of cultism in Nigeria.
All these makes the
University of Lagos the school of first choice among students, and
at the same time makes the admission into the school very
competitive. Every year tens of thousands chooses Unilag as their
first choice or second choice. In 2007 alone, over 90,000 students
seeked admission into the University.
But! How many of
these students were eventually admitted?
Just a small chunk of
the multitude (say 10%). In 2007, when we have over
90,000 students seeking for admission
placement, slightly over 9,000 students were eventually admitted,
and this is how it is every year. Imagine yourself vying with over
5,000 students for admission into a department and out of the lot
only 90-100 students will be admitted (as it happened to me in that
2007). If you can just sit down and think about it I'm telling you
its quite frustrating.
I know a lot of
students that chooses Unilag every year, they always have a good
score in Jamb but when it comes to the post UME test, that's where
they get it wrong (I, myself was also once in this shoe)
Now, the thing here is
that there are some secrets these set of students needs to know
about Unilag which they have never think of, this is what I called
'UNILAG ADMISSION SECRETS'.
lots of student out there just go out and choose Unilag without
knowing the rudiments of admission process in the school, they rely
on mother luck to get admitted. This I can tell you is not always
the case, there are some hidden secrets you need to know about the
school, which if followed couple with adequate preparation
guarantees your admission into the school.
It was in 2007, when I
was seeking admission into the school (after three attempts) that I
met a man at Unilag's senate house who revealed to me some secrets
about the selection process for admission into the school. He told
me some things that I'm suppose to do, how I'm suppose to prepare
for the post UME test, the marking scheme of the post UME test and
one startling revelation about the selection for admission into the
school. And I'm happy to tell you that I was eventually admitted
into the school to study Economics after following and doing every
thing the man told me.
Now, take a look, Do
you know that states are highly favored over each other in different
departments. Here is what I mean, there are some states which if you
claim as your state of origin gives you an edge over others from
other state in your course of choice. For example, in 2007, the
aggregate cut-off mark released for business administration was
64.5, but if you are from Ekiti state you only need an aggregate
score of 59.5 to get admitted, Lagos 62.1, Ogun state 62.7, Ondo
state 60.5, Oyo state 63.1 while Osun state 63.0. In the department
of sociology, the released aggregate cut-off mark was 62.0, but if
you are from Ekiti state you only need60.0, Lagos 59.9, Ogun state
59.8, Ondo 58.7, Oyo 59.9, Osun state 59.5 and so on and so forth.
Do you also know that
Unilag has a penchant for setting their questions from the past
questions. Most of questions of the post UME test ( say 60%) are
always from the past questions. Its not only in post UME test that
the school set questions from past questions but also in the school
examination. Ask a Unilag student, he/she will tell you how much
they cherished their PQ (as past question is fondly called among
students in the school). Setting new questions from past question
has become a culture which is religiously followed every year.
Therefore, every students aspiring to gain
admission into Unilag must get and practice rigorously the post UME
past question from 2004 till date.
These are little of the
secrets I learnt from the man which eventually secured my admission.
Now, after watching as
students fail to pass the post UME test and gain admission into
Unilag (after scoring a good mark in jamb), I have decided to
release the secrets I learnt about the school's admission process
which eventually secured my admission at the fourth attempt. I have
compiled all the secrets and guidelines plus past questions from
2004 till date into a special e-book which I titled
